Wolf reminiscences, 1881-1903.

Reminiscences of Wolf's, possibly the result of an interview by Edward Joseph Kelley, 1937, and consisting of one typescript, 52 pages, "Story of James G. Wolf, Cochise County guide". Describes life in Tombstone and Charleston, Ariz. in the early 1880s; he mentions mining, saloons, faro, Richard Gird, Judge James Burnett, Emilio Kosterlitsky, Burt Alvord, Billy Stiles, and John Slaughter.

Cochise County pioneer; Wolf came to Arizona in 1881 and worked as a teamster in Charleston, then as a miner in Tombstone. Biographical note: Rancher; John Slaughter served two terms as Cochise County Sheriff beginning in 1887, served a term in the Arizona Legislature in 1906, helped to develop the town of Douglas, Arizona, and was a stockholder in the Bank of Douglas. In 1883, John Slaughter purchased about 40,000 acres of the San Bernadino Land Grant in southeastern Arizona on the Mexican border.
